Best Concession: MILFORD
Hands down this goes to Milford. They have hamburgers, ribs, fish., the list goes on and on. They take their concession very serious. The food is seasoned just right and it doesn’t take forever to get your food. Also you have to love the marketing because just in case you need to buy a team t-shirt they have some in the concessions stand for you to buy. I respect the hustle
Other Notables: ACYFA, West Forsyth
Best Fan Support: TUCKER LIONS
You have to give it to the Tucker Lions; they have such a loyal following. Every night you will see former players come out to watch their team play. The announcer that they have is only matched by the announcer out in Old National. The fans always have on their green and black shirts in support of their team and I promise you they must have a requirement for them to know that song that they always play. The games are always packed no matter who they are playing and if they are playing another good team, it will be standing room only. If you want to talk about travel, try this…for the away games, they always more fans in their stands than the home team.
Other Notables: MLC Wolfpack, College Park Redskins, Central Dekalb, Atlanta Vikings
Most Organized League: Clayton County Youth Football League
If you knew how this guy (Koboi Simpson) turned around his league you would be amazed. Hired a couple of years ago, Simpson first set standards on how the league was ran and worried about competition later. Some might laugh at the idea but how can you have a competitive league if you cant even schedule games properly or you have to always call games off because you have no policy in place for what to do with lightning, flood, or the occasional parent tornado. Over the past couple of years this league has developed in a very well ran organization. And has seen there numbers grow significantly. He is very detailed in operations and an innovative thinker when it comes to promoting his league
Other Notables: North Metro Football League
Most Competitive Conference: MAYFL
This is a very hard one, it is easy to give this one to either the UYFC or MAYFL but it is so hard to judge the UYFC since they play limited ball and it is almost unfair to judge them against their competition because of the different rules. So I would have to give the nod to the MAYFL league. This league is very competitive, and even though they may be top heavy they are able to take their top teams out of their conference and win at other tournaments outside their league.
Best Announcer: OLD NATIONAL and TUCKER
These guys really enjoy what they do. I would have them do any big game that I have. If you have ever been to a game that they are announcing you know what I am talking about. They make the game enjoyable to listen to, they have great energy and usually their music selection is on point.
Best Introduction: ACYFA
I had the honor of filming their championship game and this had to be one of the best introductions ever. Both group of parents lined the field to make a tunnel and as the kids got their name called they ran through the tunnel made by BOTH teams parents. Now true indeed you cant do this for all age groups but that was very classy and it made the statement that no matter how this game ends it will always be about the kids
Other Notables: Milford (8U), Central DeKalb (14U),
Best Home Field Advantage: THE CAGE
I almost have to say that the nod goes to the Welcome All Panthers. First you have to see them running onto the field thought the smoke. Then you notice that the fans must all have bullhorns because they are loud and oh please don’t be a rival team. They never get on the kids but they will give the opposing coach fits. You can ask all of their opponents that faced them there that you don’t want to fall behind on the scoreboard when these guys are at home. You will blink your eyes and they will be up on you by 30.
Other Notables: Tucker (LIONS DEN), Riverdale (WASTELANDS), Ben Hill (THE ZOO)
Most Exciting Game: FAIRBURN vs CENTRAL DEKALB
This was a great game, Central DeKalb jumped out to a 24-7 lead and Fairburn ended up coming back to win the game 38-36. You can watch the highlights in the B2C video page.
Best Association: GEORGIA RATTLERS
From top to bottom they have a very good association, starting with the head coaches all the way down to the players and team moms.
Best Turnaround: MLC WOLFPACK
Not known for their football team coach Aaron had no wins last year, this year he guided his team to an undefeated season and a appearance in the championship game. They even held the number one spot in the B2C Polls for four weeks. This was also the first time that a team from MLC had ever gotten to the championship game. |
