BEN HILL BLUE VS ATLANTA VIKINGS – 12U

Ben Hill shows why they are the number one team in the B2C Polls for the 12U division.

What is a team? If you define it by the dictionary it say that a team comprises of a group linked in a common purpose.

A group in itself does not necessarily constitute a team. Teams normally have members with complementary skills and generate synergy through a coordinated effort that allows each member to maximize his or her strengths and minimize his or her weaknesses

I say all that to say that what was witnessed Saturday night was not a group of individuals but a team that has a common goal of not only ripping through the MAYFL but also a team that is focused on being the best 12U team in the metro Atlanta area.

Ben Hill walked into a very hostile environment as the Atlanta Vikings faithful let them know that they were not welcomed in the land of the Vikings. If you could have pictured the scene when Mel Gibson walked into the Thunder Dome…well this was not as violent but it was just as intense.

Coach Pool of Ben Hill walked in front of his team as he shouted words of motivation, he knew his team was ready for battle

Atlanta Vikings came out very hard with physical play on defense, holding Ben Hill to a three and out.

Once the Vikings took control of the ball they instantly went into a fast paced offense. Aggressively running to the line, 3 yards here, 4 yards there, 5 yards on another play.

Then it happened…

A great coaching staff is not only determined by how they prepare their team but also how they make adjustments during the game.

After a small adjustment with their front seven, the Atlanta Vikings could no longer move the ball and once Ben Hill got the ball back they did what everyone has been accustomed to them doing. Executing the big play…#3 (Ben Hill) ran 62 yards down the right sideline for the first score of the game to give Ben Hill a lead of 6-0

After another Atlanta Vikings three and out. #4 (Ben Hill) returned a punt 57 yards as he started left , ran to the sideline, reversed field through the Vikings defender and followed his convoy onto the endzone.

It was all Ben Hill after that as they got the best of the Vikings with a 33-0 win.

Even though this was a hard loss for the Vikings I am very sure that Coach Tim will have his kids prepared for the playoffs

As for Ben Hill, well it will be interesting to see if they can survive a beast of a playoff with Central Dekalb Gold and don’t forget the Welcome All Panthers lurking in the shadows waiting for their arrival.
