The Old National Knights rallied from a two touchdown deficit in the 4th quarter, to steal a win in overtime from the Central DeKalb Jaguars.
At the end of the 3rd quarter the Old National Knights were facing a two-touchdown deficit. Even though the score was not in their favor the Old National supporters kept cheering their team on. The Knights quickly drove down the field once they got the ball to begin the 4th quarter and scored. After a defensive stop the coaches called almost a perfect drive. Giving his stable of running backs (#20, #21, #4) the ball on pitches to the outside to use their speed. Just as it seemed as if Central DeKalb was going to stop them. The coach dialed #21’s number as he got the ball, raced outside of the tackle and carried three defenders to the 3 yard line. At the goal line #4 ran in behind #70 to get into the end zone and tie up the game 18-18. In overtime the Knights marched down the field to the goal line. With first and goal the quarterback gave #70 a pat of encouragement on his helmet to let him know we are going to run this ball behind you. #70 did not disappoint as he cleared out the way to lead his running back into the end zone. This capped off a great comeback for the Old National Knights.
