Welcome All Panthers lay their claim as the best offense in the 12U division
It is very cold outside and wet and by this time I have had an extremely long day. As I make my way to Exchange Park, I see the car lining up so much that I can’t get a park. Then one parent notices me in my car and yells “Hey B2C park here”. So I go ahead and park, I get out the car looking at a team warm up. This team is small but they have the skills of a high school team. Practicing running the spread to perfection, the coach is relaxed as I walk up to him. “Hey B2C I’m glad you could make it”, I tell Coach G thank you for having us and that I cant wait to see you guys play.
I am still amazingly tired.
Then I see this stocky, bow legged kid come up to me. He says to me “man I have been waiting on you to get here”. I crack and smile and ask him “why is that?”, he laughs and just tells me “look I’m not being cocky but we are the best team hands down”.
The kid would not disappoint.
On the panthers first possession, that little stocky, bow legged kid took that ball 52 yards down the right sideline…you talk about wow factor, he had it.
By this time I am wide awake.
Not since seeing #2 from Gresham and #1 from Fairburn had I been just blown away with an aggressive running style. Some runners are slashers like Reggie Bush, then others are bruisers like Brandon Jacobs and then there are those special players…kind of like Adrian Peterson. Now I know the kid is very young, of course he is only 12 years old, but to compare his running style to Adrian Peterson is not a stretch at all. He runs with a controlled anger just like AP and when his has contact with a defensive player…man you better look out!
The Welcome All panthers as said by their great announcers who by the way I would like to say that he is one of the best. He said that if you blink they will be up by 30.
It wasn’t far from the truth at all
Before you knew it the Panthers were up 16-0 headed into halftime and the score might have been worse if Central Dekalb players wasn’t so talented on defense.
Central Deklab Silver offense had a difficult time, as they still struggle to find their identity with all that talent that they have on the field.
The game ended up being in the Panthers favor as the cruised to a large victory.
