EAST METRO TITANS LOOKING FOR RESPECT
If you have ever sat down and had a conversation with Coach Scott you will find you self amazed and confused at the same time. This well educated man will sort of resemble a Jekyll and Hyde character. On one hand you have a guy that is an accomplished doctor with his own practice. He does multiple charity work within his community and others. On the other side is a football coach that is extremely competitive and willing to go to the depths of the earth to prepare his team for a game and also fight for respect for his team but to be honest which coach doesn’t do the same thing.
On Sunday night the stage was theirs as the East Metro Titans played in the WYFL championship game. They were clicking on all facets of the offensive side of the ball with a powerful running game and a passing game that can only be matched by few teams in the metro area.
#3 (Titans) Player of the Year nominee was in full show Sunday night as he ran for a touchdown, passed for a touchdown and caught a touchdown. In the twelve age group division he might be the most complete offensive player in the area.
Even though Bi-City came to play, the East Metro Titans were just to much for them to handle. The only time they crossed into Titans territory was because of two fumbles by the Titans. Eventually the Titans would stop Bi-City at the goaline.
The final score was 31-0 as the Titans claimed their third straight championship. Now they set their sights on the postseason as they look to improve their B2C ranking.
When Coach Scott was asked about the ranking his response was “How are we ranked lower than those other teams that I am sure we can beat them on the field of play. If they come to the Battle of the Best tournament then we will be able to quite what people have to say about the Titans. We have just won our third straight championship (WYFL) and because we don’t play in the big market leagues (MAYFL, UYFC, CCYFL, YFA) we cant get our due respect. All they have to do is prove that they can beat us on the field and that message is for any coach in 12U that is listening.
