This young athlete is a standout guard who helped to lead his team, the Clayton County Knicks, to a win against the Clayton County Hawks in the 8U Clayton County Championship game. Following their triumphant victory, Dushawn sat down with B2C for a moment to be our Youth Spotlight.

Dushawn: Dushawn Cameron Ellerbee

B2C: How old are you?

Dushawn: 8

B2C: (Chuckling a little) Is this your first interview?

Dushawn: (Smiling widely) Yes

B2C: What school do you attend?

Dushawn: Kilpatrick Elementary School

B2C: How long have you been playing basketball?

Dushawn: 2 years

B2C: Why do you like basketball?

Dushawn: I like to shoot

B2C: What’s your best shot?

Dushawn: I’m a 3 pt shooter

B2C: How many points did you score in this game?

Dushawn: (Grinning again) I scored 18 points in this game

B2C: Will you play basketball next year?

Dushawn: Yes, I will play for Hoops & Fitness

B2C: How did it feel when your team won the championship?

Dushawn: It felt good to win and I knew we would win

B2C: What motivated you to play basketball?

Dushawn: My Dad got me into basketball

B2C: Who is your favorite basketball player?

Dushawn: Mo Williams

B2C: Why?

Dushawn: Because he can shoot

B2C: What do you want to do when you grow up?

Dushawn: I would like to play basketball.

Dushawn: The Knicks
